Please
note that these games are for the Sinclair QL computer
(or emulators). If you are looking for low-cost games to run
on the PC, please refer to our dedicated PC (Windows) based
pages.
One of the growth areas of computing is retro-games, allowing people to play arcade games which they remember from their youth and also capturing
the hearts of some of the new gaming generation.
RWAP Services is able to provide various re-releases of several arcade games originally produced for the Sinclair QL, allowing you to recall your youth
and those hazy days of the mid to late 1980s when computers were just beginning to make their presence felt in the home and computer games had just emerged
from an era of a couple of lines and a dot on the TV screen to represent a game of tennis. You might also
like to see if there is any second hand games
software
which may interest you. Another option, would be to
download one of the excellent ZX Spectrum emulators for the
Sinclair QL and use it to run the wide range of games
which were produced for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum - we
ourselves have a wide range of second hand programs for the Sinclair
ZX Spectrum.

Q-Word - a brand
new game for the Sinclair QL which will revolutionise leisure software - this will make the most of the new graphics modes available on the
latest versions of the Sinclair QL, such as the Aurora motherboard, the Q40 and
Q60 computers and emulators such as QPC, whilst a version
for original QLs will also be made available. The aim of the game is
simple - you need to clear a grid of letters by making as many words as you can
from consecutive letters in the grid. Points are awarded depending on the
letters used as well as the length of the word.
PC
Users can play a demo of this program, which can be downloaded from our
dedicated QWord page.

Jungle Eddi (Arcade Game) 256K
** re- released Dec '04 **
Review: QL World Dec'86
Another superb arcade game light relief over the long winter months,
Jungle Eddi includes the best features of an outdoor maze and elements of risk
to sustain your interest.
Two levels of play are provided as the initial options which determine the
speed of character movement and your reaction time. Local scenery and
background throughout the game occurs in a hundred smoothly-changing, random
obstacle layouts - no two successive games are exactly the same.
Well-balanced in terms of action, risks, elements of judgment - to jump or
not to jump - and movement options, you have opportunities of gaining lives as
you, in the tradition of Tarzan, jump from ground to branch or through the
trees to capture the flying hearts. At the same time you must avoid poisonous
snakes, scorpions and tortoises, or falling to your death into crevasses or
drowning in the evil, smelly marshes.
Points are gained by capturing flying bells, numbers and pigmy stickmen
versions of Tinkerbell, or is it Peter Pan? If Eddi is on the ground, he can
be killed by greenfly or, if he jumps, the greenfly are worth 200 points.
Pinkfly can either push you to your death or cause you to jump.
NB: Does not work under Pointer Environment or SMSQ/e !!

Open Golf (Golf Program) 384K Review: QL World Dec'90, QL Leisure Review 1, QReview Vol 1 Iss 4, Quanta Oct '98
Do you enjoy playing golf, but cannot afford the club fees or just cannot face
going out into the howling rain to play a round? No ?? Then do you have an
hour or two spare and would like to find something to fill the gap ?? In either
of these cases, this is the program for you.
Open Golf is an excellent implementation of a classic game - select the correct
club for your shot and watch the overhead shot as the ball flies through the
air. With 50 18-hole golf courses to choose from and close up 3-D shots of the
you making your swing, or on the putting green, this has lots of features to
keep the whole family entertained.
You don't need to be a real golfer to play this one, it is well designed and
easy to handle, taking account of swing, power and wind effects; it takes some
thought to get a hole in one!!

QuizMaster II (Pub Quiz Program) 128K Review: QL World Jan 89, QReview Vol 1 Iss 2
Quick... Which Actor Starred in Three Way Stretch and The Pink Panther??
QuizMaster II is a colourful implementation of a Pub Quiz game, with two modules
of questions currently available, each containing over 300 questions.
Both modules, a General
Knowledge Module and a TV & Film Module, are supplied with the program. Other modules will hopefully be
released if demand dictates. Only downside is that the questions are very
1980s based in line with playing the original Trivial Pursuit nowadays!
Each question appears on screen one letter at a time and you can either play
another human player to see who can be the first to get the answer (selected
from four options) or just play against the clock.
With the ability to easily add your own question modules, this is good all-round family
entertainment.

Stone Raider II (Boulderdash Clone) 128K Review: QL World Feb'87,
Micro
Mart March 2004 (8/10)
This is a very colourful implementation of a Boulderdash game, popular with

of the hexogems from around an abandoned mine. However, there are
various obstacles in your way which will try to kill you - not only are
you racing against time, but you also have to deal with falling rocks, JCB diggers,
toxic waste and mutant creatures.
With 32 large multi-scrolling screens, this should keep everyone entertained for quite some time.

request)
In this colourful game, you control a small
Penguin (Pengi) as he tries to survive the antarctic climate, trapped inside
a maze of ice blocks which is surrounded by an electric fence. Faced
with deadly snobees all around, the only way to survive is by pushing ice
blocks onto the snobees and squashing them, before they touch Pengi.
You can also collect diamonds to gain additional points.
Blocks can also be removed by crushing them
against another block, thus allowing you to make new paths and tunnels in
the maze.

Hoverzone (Defender Clone) 128K Review: QL World Jan'88,
Micro
Mart March 2004 (8/10)
This is a fast and furious implementation of a popular old arcade game.
You control a space ship flying around the surface of a planet, as hoardes
of invading aliens attempt to reach the surface and pick up the
inhabitants of the planet. You have to shoot the aliens, before they
get back to their mothership with the people which they capture and use
them to mutate into even more deadly aliens. With
lots of levels and plenty of action, this should provide hours of fun.
Not currently QPC or Q40 SMSQ/E compatible, but PC, Mac and UNIX users can use either
the Shareware QeMulator QL emulator or the public domain QLAY /QL2K emulators to run
this. More details. Q40 users can use Classic QDOS
to run this program.

Deathstrike (Scramble Clone) 128K
This could be seen as the follow-up to Hoverzone. Written by Damon Chaplin, this
is yet another fast and furious
arcade game, based on "Scramble". Here you are flying through a tight network of underground
caverns, trying to find and destroy the alien base and their mothership. The
caverns are defended by radar controlled missiles and alien spaceships. Can you
survive the maze and reach the end? Lots of
colour, and lots of fun.
Not currently QPC, Q40 SMSQ/E or SuperHERMES keyboard compatible, but PC, Mac and UNIX users can use
either the Shareware QeMulator QL emulator or the public domain QLAY / QL2K emulators to run this.
More details. Q40 users can use Classic QDOS to run
this program.

Microdeal Flight Simulator (Training Plane Flight Simulator)
This was the earliest flight simulator for the Sinclair QL. It was designed by
an aeronautical engineer and is based on a single engined light training
aircraft (the SAH1 by Trago Mills). With 9 different worlds to fly
around and the ability to set up weather and wind conditions, this provided
an excellent training tool for use on the QL.
The view is from the cockpit, with wire-framed 3d views of the world outside the
window, radar view, and all the standard controls which you would expect.

QL Flightdeck (Small Plane Flight Simulator)
Download Demo Version Review: QL World V2 Iss 12, QL World Dec 89
This is no simple flight simulator for the QL. It is based on a twin engined
passenger jet flying around a 'world' of various airports and landscape
features. The worlds can be edited and changed to suit your own flying skills
as you progress.
The view is from the cockpit, with shaded 3d views of the world outside the
window, with VHF omni-directional range and distance equipment, automatic
direction finding and an instrument landing system to aid you in your flight,
just like a real pilot!

Microdeal's QL Hopper
QL Hopper is a good implementation of the classic arcade game Frogger, where
the aim of the game is to guide 5 frogs into their individual homes, which
are situated across the other side of a busy motorway and a fast flowing
river. Dodge the cars and trucks on the motorway, but use the logs and
lily pads on the river as stepping stones to help you across.
The different speeds of each obstacle makes the game more difficult to judge -
highly addictive and rewarding when you do manage to get the frogs into their
homes.

Microdeal's
The King
The King is a good implementation of the classic arcade game Donkey Kong, where
the aim of the game is to climb to the top of the ladders and platforms to
rescue the damsel in distress who is guarded by King Kong.
King Kong is throwing barrels at you to stop you in your rescue mission,
although you can smash them with a mallet. In this version, if any barrels
reach the oil in the bottom left, they turn into a green monster that works its
way back up the ladders to kill you.

Microdeal's Cuthbert in Space
This is a fast and colourful arcade game which is reminiscent of Jet Set
Willy.
You are flying a large spaceship from world to world seeking treasure and
resources. Having landed, each planet has two phases - in the first, you
need to fly a small shuttle about the screen to collect the fuel cells which
appear on various platforms and the treasure which falls down from above.
Your journey is made more hazardous by the flying alien spaceships trying to
protect their planet's resources. Luckily your laser cannon will destroy the
aliens.
Two levels of play make the game addictive.
