In order to keep our customers better informed, we have decided to list
customers in the order in which their orders will be sent out. The current
interfaces being constructed / tested are shown by an orange band, the orders
being shipped shown by a green band (together with date shipped). This
should give some indication of waiting times for customers.
Our sincere apologies for the continued delays - we have
had two problems - the postal disputes and failure by the post office to deliver
them, and some interfaces not working on arrival. The failures appear due
to the delicate soldering required for the Compact Flash slots. This has
now been rectified - the cards are now being delivered more quickly and we
expect to clear the backlog soon. We have now changed the manufacturing
procedure so that we are now purchasing only the parts in batches of 20 kits
from Poland and assembling them here in the UK, which makes it much easier to
test and get faults rectified quickly.
NEWS FLASH: Unfortunately, Steve Prior, who is
manufacturing the units in the UK has had to stop production for 3 weeks, as he
has been offered a house at short notice, to help with his disabled wife.
We wish him all the best with the move and in his new home - alas this means a
further delay for our customers - expected delivery of next batch is now end of
July 2008.
