PC (Windows) Games

There are a wide range of games produced for the Windows based PC, some of which are free to download, or can be played on-line using Java. However, the vast majority are either commercial or shareware programs and so we are currently trying a range of these games in order to add reviews of them to our site.

1. Bejeweled by PopCap Games (match the coloured blocks - similar to tetris in some ways).
2. 888Casino On Net (online gambling including free casino games)
3. Bubble Bobble Games (by Terminal Games and Alawar Entertainment - variants based on the original ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64 games).

If you are looking for other games, we would recommend that you try some of the excellent range of games from PopCap Games who also produce games for Palm based Palm and PocketPC PDAs, as well as versions for the Apple Mac and even Java based web games.

Freebieholics is also a good source of free to play on-line games and other freebie offers, including competitions. With no cost to you, this seems a good site to practice your gaming skills.

If you are looking for second hand items, we apologise, as you are not in luck. Due to the fast moving PC computer market, with better hardware and software being released all the time, it is often easier to purchase a brand new machine than purchase second hand bits (which may or may not be compatible with your system). Q-Word - Although this has been written to run on the Sinclair QL at present, thanks to the innovative use of a QL emulator (QPC), we are able to offer a demo version of the game for PC users (we hope later to offer a full version).

The aim of the game is simple - you need to clear a grid of letters by making as many words as you can from consecutive letters in the grid. Points are awarded depending on the letters used as well as the length of the word.
